Dr Sam Roberts graduated from The Newcastle Upon Tyne University in the UK with a Distinction in clinical Dentistry in 2006. Following graduation, Sam worked in the UK under the close mentorship of an experienced oral surgeon. Sam then moved to Australia to combine dentistry with his passion for travelling. Sam has worked in Mackay, Darwin and Hobart to attain mentorship in Oral surgery, Implant dentistry and Cosmetic dentistry. Teaching from renowned clinicians in Brisbane has also given him valuable experience in more advanced dental procedures and techniques. Sam is a member of the British Dental Association, Australian Society of Implant Dentistry and International Team for Implantology (ITI) study club. Sam took over Hinterland Dental in July 2015 with his wife, Dr Gemma Hamilton. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, Dr Gemma Hamilton studied Dentistry at The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne qualifying in 2006. Following working for one year in the U.K., Gemma and her husband, Dr Sam Roberts came to Australia to travel for one year. Fast forward 10 years, several states, citizenship, Dusty the cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a house and dental practice it is safe to say the Sunshine Coast is now very much home! Gemma enjoys treating all members of the family, from treating children for their first dental visit to providing care for grandparents. Gemma enjoys getting to know her patients and creating a trusting bond. Gemma is particularly interested in treating children, and anxious patients ensuring their visits to to dental surgery are pleasant and patients are made to feel at ease. Dr Julianna Tsao graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland in 2012. Currently, Julianna is undertaking her Diploma in Progressive Orthodontics under the standards of the International College of Continuing Dental Education. Julianna grew up in Brisbane and has gained experience in various positions in the public sector, private practice in Maroochydore, and in volunteer dental programs for refugees and the homeless. Her dentistry is not only focused on providing the best clinical treatment available but doing so in the most gentle and caring manner. During her time in private practice, Julianna was often referred the most dental phobic patients due to her ability to place them at ease during the whole dental experience. Julianna continually keeps up to date with the latest dental education and particularly in the fields of paediatrics and orthodontics. Dr Caitlin Stephens graduated from James Cook University in Cairns with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She was awarded the Academic Medal for Bachelor coursework and received recognition from the JCU Professional College for Leadership and Community Engagement. Caitlin has travelled for most of her life. At 9 years old she moved to England where she enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, before returning to Australia 6 years later.  During her final year of university and since graduation she has worked around Australia to broaden her exposure to different dental opportunities and environments. She has practiced in Cairns, Mackay, Launceston, Canberra, and has now settled in the Sunshine Coast. Caitlin is a gentle clinician who focuses on patient-centred care. She is a very enthusiastic learner, who actively strives to stay up to date with all aspects of modern dentistry. Dental Hygienist and Therapist

Deborah Kerridge graduated from the Brisbane School of Dental Therapy in 1978. In 1998 Deb enrolled in the first intake of the Dental Hygienist course offered by University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology. Deb was introduced to Hinterland Dental in the early 2000s and was very excited to be able to be involved in a team that is as passionate about prevention as she is herself. Deborah is a member of the Australian Oral Health Therapy Association, the Australian Dental Hygienist Association and the Australian Dental Therapy Association as well as participating in various study groups. Special areas of interest include: All areas of preventive dentistry. Periodontic care. Children’s Dental care. Aged care. Outside of the dental field, Deb lives on the sunshine coast with her wonderful husband and teenage daughter, two dogs and one cat. She loves to surf, eating out and going to the gym.
